My Year of Turning 50

They tried again this week — AARP sent me another sign-up invitation. That’s four, by my count during my year of turning 50. I will admit, after hearing someone on the phone this week at work asking a reservation clerk about the “AARP discount,” I was more tempted than ever. (Of course, since this AARP invite was addressed to “John R. Cutter,” and “R” is not my middle initial, I wouldn’t accept just on accuracy grounds.)
