Home again after too long a drive back from Hilton Head, what with the extra bathroom breaks — inevitable when traveling with a 7-year-old AND a baby boomer. (There must be a joke somewhere in how often we boomers visit the toilet.) Vacation was great, though Hilton Head Island this time of year is crowded. We’ve now visited in November, May, and June, and the summer months of July and August apparently are high season. One thing I noticed this time is how family-friendly the restaurants are — even good ones. (I highly recommend the Alligator Grille, where I had excellent sushi and a fine shrimp/scallop over angel hair pasta. I could use another week, but it’s back to it on Monday.
