A walk down YouTube memory lane

Just took a long walk — ABC and TB are at a birthday party, so Louie and I exercised. Felt good, especially since this time of year is the best here in Florida — warm but not too muggy yet. I am home now and looking around the Internet, thinking about boomers and my birth year. I decided to search those words in YouTube and came up with some interesting results, especially from 1957, which showed a lot of old film of singers and TV shows as well as some great old health films. In that way of thinking that only the Internet (and maybe the mind of a 7-year-old) works, this made me think of the neighborhood in Manhattan where I grew up — Inwood. Most of the stuff was current, including this travelogue that makes Inwood sounds positively Rockwellian. But then, when I was growing up in the 1960s, there was a bit of Rockwell to the area, since the neighborhood is ringed with parks that make it one of the more unusual spots in such a big city. There is a photo gallery on the Manhattan Board that will give you a flavor.
